Although over 30 years old, The Regulation of Prostitution: Avoiding the Morality Traps (Shaver, 1994) remains relevant in its explanation of how Victorian moralism and radical feminism have influenced & cont to influence Canadian prostitution laws.

Reportedly both a client and friend of sex workers in late 19th century Paris, Toulouse captured and portrayed sex work and workers in humanistic and intimate ways throughout his paintings - a feat itself at that time (and still to this day if we're being honest).
