Nope. I tried what turned out to be a dragon merge game with that ad that had a single minigame that did that once, but never repeated it. I think it's imaginary. I gather the one where the woman and her kid/s are freezing and you have to fix the window/repair the house is also a mirage.

Have you seen the show where he and his wife fix up a Welsh chapel to be a live/work/local hub space? Also delightful.

I don't know if you've read Jane Austen's Bookshelf, which looks at the female novellists who were her major influences and then looks at why almost none of them are remembered now, but it's really made me think about how things become 'classics', and whether they actually represent the best work.

Also of course, what is and is not upstate varies widely depending on where you're from. I'd say it's anything north of Albany (by latitude), but some people exclude western NY, and NYC people think it's anywhere outside the city.

Even the non-immigrant communities I'm in are full of people making plans to be able to do that. They're researching whether they can claim citizenship anywhere else and doing it, or looking into ways they can qualify for residency and getting the paperwork in place.

Not a lot of pre-teens or teens who are likely to cherish the memory, ime. I found the whole thing mortifying, tried to forget it immediately, and never voluntarily entered a lingerie section with her again. The existance, behaviour, or appearance of the salesperson made no impression whatsoever.

Just finished Jane Austen's Bookshelf, about the inspiration she drew from existing female novelists, the fact that nearly all scholarship about her completely ignores them (b/c the researchers have never read them), & also looks at the reasons WHY they haven't. Should be required reading, I think.

It varies: some companies are ok, some aren't, but none of them have done major investment in decades. Ticket prices can be ok for short trips, but it's cheaper to fly to Edinburgh than to go by train, which is indefensible. And there are TONS of ticket options, so it's v hard to buy the right one.
