LEMills, as always. Retired editor but not retiring observer. Erstwhile podcast lover and early adopter; now loving the perspective of time. In the place some call DelCo but Philadelphia born. I do say "crick."
Because they assume he is the main subject of the prayers?

What was more unusual today was the apparent lack of smart-ass kids who kept cruising past us last time, taunting. Drivers were either honkingly enthusiastic or neutral.
My favorite sign from the #NoKings protest in Havertown, Pennsylvania: "This isn't about politics, this is about humanity"
And oh, the humanity who were there!
I have always loved @propublica.org's mission statement. It speaks to method as much as mission, and does not shrink from describling their journalism as a moral undertaking. www.propublica.org/about/

I hope the sale went well for you. It continues to be my favorite event for HPS/MAG. Your Ceanothus made the journey home safely, and as soon as I stop scrolling through your website I will go out and get it in the ground! Thanks for being there.
20.09.2025 19:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@mrjamesob.bsky.social A good question for Mystery Hour today would have been "What happened to last week's podcast?" [The 3rd hour isn't on the full show, either. I wanted to listen more closely to your bird sounds. Were they from the Merlin app?]
12.09.2025 00:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I try to share links to our stories with the most striking passage or quote, but this piece has far too many to do that. It's also hard to say what speaks louder: the photos or photographer Adriana Loureiro FernΓ‘ndez's words. Beautiful. Haunting. Make the time: www.propublica.org/article/ceco...

99% of the time, that fight was complete BS.

In order, the others are: LA protests and National Guard deployment Partisanship/party conflict Immigration and deportation Tariffs/trade policy Concerns about authoritarianism/rule of law Inflation and economic news Media bias and misinformation Cuts to social services and government funding Foreign policy and international conflict I've marked the "cuts to social services" with a red box.
I'm so grateful for @gelliottmorris.com's new project.
Americans aren't learning that Trump is cutting their healthcare.
