I wish I can mourn with you all of President Jimmy Carterβs death. But I cannot as he, like all US presidents were active supporters and instigators of the oppression of the South Korean people.
30.12.2024 03:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs crazy how the US is like this. In South Korea, the priests and bishops in Catholic Church recently put out a statement for their right wing president to resign because heβs a threat to democracy
25.12.2024 16:15 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Kim Sang-wook, PPP member who came out to vote, just said he voted against impeachment, but also said his personal view is that Yoon shouldnβt be president. What the fuck does that mean?
07.12.2024 10:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ok. We have 3 PPP members who are in the chamber and voted. Thereβs no way to know how they voted yet, but itβs likely they voted for impeachment. Ahn Cheol-Soo is the sole PPP member who made it public he would support impeachment. The other two came in as the Democratic Party is trying to buy time
07.12.2024 09:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ridiculously disappointed in the People Power Party in South Korea. History will remember each member and their complicity.
07.12.2024 09:39 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Heβs not taking any responsibility. His party just boycotted the impeachment vote.
We canβt compare the PPP to the USβ Republican Party or even MAGA. Itβs far worse as they have ties to the military dictatorships of the past.
It was beautiful to see different groups come together for freedom is not real until we are all free. Iβm incredibly for their support and look forward to support them in their fight for their liberation.
05.12.2024 07:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The protests also called for the US to withdraw from South Korea and stop using the Korean Peninsula as a pawn in its Cold War against Russia and China.
We were joined by Liberation Movement organizers for Palestine and the Philippines, both of whom are also victims of Western colonization.
The protests going on in South Korea and in diaspora communities around the world arenβt just calling for the end of Yoonβs presidency, but to reform Korean society as a whole. It involves a complete change in the economic and political system to serve all people.
05.12.2024 07:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Today, I got to be a part of my motherlandβs history by taking part in a protest organized by Nodutdol for Korean Community Development. Though Martial Law was lifted yesterday, it was the nail in the coffin that made it clear it was time for President Yoon to resign.
05.12.2024 07:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No worries. Youβre reflective and thoughtful. Thatβs what matters
04.12.2024 08:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Unfortunately thatβs not always the case. Iβm a pastor in progressive Christian spaces. In a lot of fully queer inclusive churches, thereβs still a lot of racism. Maybe not in the direct MAGA way, but really subtle micro-aggressions every day.
04.12.2024 07:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Grateful for the work you do
04.12.2024 07:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The sad reality is, South Korea has essentially been a US territory since Japanβs occupation/genocide in Korea ended.
04.12.2024 06:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This also my hope. The Korean people were decisive and courageous. Hoping Yoonβs resignation is next.
04.12.2024 06:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hello. Iβm sure you didnβt mean any harm, but this isnβt funny. Lots of people in South Korea have already died due to things Yoon has done. This was an attempted coup and Koreans all over the word were terrified.
04.12.2024 06:27 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes!
04.12.2024 06:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes! So proud. Next step: Get Yoon out!!
04.12.2024 06:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm sorry for your experience with Christians, even progressive ones. I will strive to do better
04.12.2024 06:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Absolutely badass.
And youβre so right. Men are always cowering to Trump. Women are way more courageous
Love this. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself with the world. There are so many queer people hurting and your presence and your work brings healing to the soul.
04.12.2024 05:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Joining the protest at the South Korean Consulate in LA tomorrow at 6pm. Demanding the resignation of President Yoon. Calling all allies of the Korean people to support us in protecting democracy.
03.12.2024 23:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Though he and a few colleagues have been under fire, they are resilient and continue the fight to make the Church in South Korea a more inclusive place for all people.
They gifted me these little trinkets which I brought back home. They now sit in my office at my queer inclusive church in LA
Alright. Time to make a positive post:
Last month, I went to Seoul, Korea with my partner to visit her family. The final Sunday there, we visited Q&A, a progressive, queer inclusive, and justice minded church. The pastor in the last few years has been on trial where his ordination may be revoked.
I agree Trump is 100 times worse, but canβt we be mad about both?
02.12.2024 07:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Appreciate your vulnerability
02.12.2024 05:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So pissed right now about Biden pardoning his son.
This is Hillsong level shit. At this point, I wouldnβt even trust Biden to be a staff member at my church, as I would be nervous about him covering up crimes committed by βhis peopleβ.
Iβm not gonna say that Trump and Biden are the same, butβ¦β¦
This is the stuff thatβs gonna make Dems lose again. I donβt care if Hunter was singled out for political reasons. He committed a crime. The thought that most of these crimes get let go with some fines is privileged white people bullshit.
If God told me do to do that, I would say βFuck Youβ and refuse
