The political factionalism is far deeper than revolutionary/counter-revolutionary. It's layered with the personal interests of those involved and the tensions created in that space are very recognizable, albeit with magic and demons.

Just finished "City of Last Chances" by @aptshadow.bsky.social and just, wow. I've been a fan of his sci-fi but this is the first time I've dipped into his fantasy efforts.

Wonderful world building that doesn't feel rehashed, political intrigue that's realistic. Excellent writing. Strong recommend!
