I truly believe part of the job of a goalkeeper is to look calm, cool, and collected. To present an air of confidence that says "whatever is happning out there on the pitch, between these two sticks, I got it." Lammens has that. Onana had an arrogance, and Bayindir looks perpetually terrified.

Go back and watch Maguire's goal, and really marvel at how much he's perfected his knee slide. It's perfection.

Yeah, pretty much. And no one wants to seriously talk about it.

I'm not going to say I expected us to win or anything, but I can't be the only one going into this game that thought things might be just aligned enough for us to pull it off. I think a lot of the pundits are downplaying just how bad Liverpool look.

Is this real? Did this just happen?!

A meme with a character from Watchmen whose name I can’t remember, saying:

It is 1982. I am one year old. Tron bombs at the box office
It is 2010. I am
twenty-nine years old.
Tron bombs at the box office
It is 2025. I am
fourty-four years old.
Tron bombs at the box office

This meme made me laugh.

If there's ANY truth to the rumors that the Glazers are looking to sell, then regardless of if it happens or not, SJR and INEOS look like absolute fools for the deal they made, and for trusting the Glazers to honor it long term.

They're making a billionaire look like a rube. /x

He just spent a billion dollars and a couple years of his life to take a team from 8th to 15th. Talks about giving Amorim three years to get it right, when SJR might not even have three months left running the place.

I didn't believe the stories positing that the Glazers are looking to sell United, but now that the Athetlic is reporting it, there's gotta be some legs to it.

How badly did SJR and INEOS get blindsided by this? How many times has SJR said he's confident in the relationship with the Glazers? /1

You can't run a club on knee-jerk reactions, agreed. But 50 games is not knee-jerk when it's this bad. You can't run a top club by letting it languish in sub-mediocrity, either. Get busy living, or get busy dying.

Yes. The moment at Spurs vs Chelsea where they were a man down and he still had everyone of his defenders on the halfway line, while Chelsea went on to run rampant, I knew he wasn't a serious manager. Moreso than even Amorim, he is totally inflexible. I'm not sure he knows what "game state" is.

What a great win! Finally everything was clicking.

One thing that struck me is how MASSIVE Lammens is. Big lad, he.

04.10.2025 16:07 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I do wonder what the club thinks will happen, if their intent is to keep him. Will the results just magically start clicking? At this point, it feels like you need the greatest manager turnaround in history to make this a success. Even if everything goes right, what's the ceiling on this setup?

This thread rationally explains how I feel about the Amorim situation. Good read. It's not all Amorim's fault, but I think enough of it is.

I have to disagree with both of you. These players are MUCH better than relegation form. The system they're in is a poor fit, and has been from the start.

I'm not saying they're sabotaging the team, but Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are both fomer Man City employees, and if you wanted to get us relegated, you'd keep doing what they're doing

Where's the progress? What have we learned as a team under Amorim other than losing has no consequences?

This cannot be the new standard. We see these performances all the time now. What are the owners putting their faith in?

I believe Renault and Ford tried this before, but it tested poorly, because a lot of men could never remember where they parked it.

Sorry but iOS 26's "Liquid Glass" looks like 90s Photoshop. This is hideous.

This is going to be a dire season of premier league football for United fans. Hope it's worth it. Probably won't be.

We were unlucky that INEOS decided to choose this guy to run a team that didn't have ANY of the player profiles his system requires. A system that has our best player playing out of position.

That's unlucky.

"I will do everything" but he won't change his tactics? That doesn't sound like he will do everything.

The time for words is long past. We needed to see progress, just progress this season. There has been none.

Yeah, I really struggle with what this is supposed to accomplish when it's firing on all cylinders. What's the advantage? What are we hoping to leverage by sticking with it? I have no idea.

This has been my contention since the moment Amorim arrived. We were a squad quite ill-suited to his style. I felt it was a potentially bad appointment from the start because of this, and it's gone worse than even I imagined.
