I've found gratitude journaling to be helpful and thought I'd share in case it helps someone else

A few things I've been grateful for the past few days: the goldfinches eating seeds from the primrose that took over my backyard this year, the last few trumpet honeysuckle flowers hanging on, purring kitties, humidifiers now that the heat is on and the winterberries brightening up the gloom

Picture of gray cat who looks annoyed because I accidentally woke her up from a nap. You can see tufts of hair coming from her ears that curl backwards and look adorable

Today I'm grateful for a good boss and ear fluff. Picture is not my boss even if she thinks she is

Gonna start a #3goodthings each night inspired by @roisinm.bsky.social hoping it will help me keep looking for good things each day like it did for me today.
1: Christmas Tree looking v pretty on St Patricks Street Cork
2: Fancy coffee
3: choosing which glittery earrings to wear to an event.

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is β€˜snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

Good morning.

Word of the Day is as beautiful as it is underused. β€˜Confelicity’ is finding joy in the happiness and success of others.

I'm feeling pretty down today which means it's both harder and more important for me to take some time for gratitude. So, today I'm grateful for warm slippers, blanket capes and weed gummies

There are two owls in my backyard just hootin’ and flappin’ around and they were not at all bothered when I went out to watch them, so all in all, this was an A+ day.

A stack of books on a black shelf (it's a cat climbing shelf which was the closest flat surface after I opened the box. If the cats can claim all the other surfaces I can borrow one of theirs)

Today I'm grateful for books and everyone who makes them happen. Special call out to bookshop.org for letting me support local bookstores without ever having to put on pants. Today's delivery:

A scene with inky darkness. The moon blots out the sun and ring of fire appears in the sky. The horizon looks like sunset and the golden color reflects in the lake. Three people in the bottom right corner look up. They are in silhouette.

Remember the eclipse back in April?

Since eclipses are rare I practiced camera settings and timing... then changed travel plans, watched the weather like a hawk, and ended up driving quite a bit. It all worked out. I'm proudest of this image and would love to do projects like this more often.

Today I'm grateful for the wind rustling through the trees, the wound of the windchime on my porch, my sister for gifting me the windchime and the cat who it memorializes. She was always happiest when her whiskers were blowing in the breeze
