It's been a great semester. I was inspired by your chapter about policy analysis in the classroom so I made the whole class revolve around negotiations and policy analysis. Thanks for telling me about your book!

National Science Foundation Fires 168 Workers as Federal Purge Continues Firings at the NSF included permanent employees who had already completed their one-year probationary period, as well as at-will workers.

For 17 Years, Swedish Scientists Were Sneaking Bob Dylan Song Titles into Their Research Papers as Part of a Bet For 17 years, a group of Swedish-based scientists had a bet to sneak Bob Dylan song titles into their scientific articles.

Two professors at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute, they titled a research paper β€œNitric Oxide and inflammation: The answer is blowing in the wind” (Predictably, it was about flatulence).

We faculty heard some pretty astounding numbers yesterday. The big whopper is that our unit (all the historians and social scientists) costs the university about $1.4m a year. Because we teach so much (all those "student credit hours" we account for), we bring into the university more than 3x that.

College students caught between professors' AI bans and employers' growing demand for AI skills Research shows 75% of workers now use artificial intelligence on the job, yet many universities still classify its use as cheating.

No, they're not caught between anything. Stop it. The fact that AI may be used or useful in future jobs does not create a single dilemma at all for college students in how to actually complete their coursework. This is all nonsense & excuses for not doing the reading & learning how to think & write.

I've really enjoyed these 15 minute watercolor lessons. The compositions are really different than my usual style, but I love them.
