Sotomayor brings up that thousands of children may be rendered stateless should the birthright citizenship Executive Order go into effect. You can read my recently posted draft on how children are at risk of statelessness by the EO and other Trump policies here:

Instead of finishing my damn dissertation, I wrote about the CJEU's decision to outlaw Malta's citizenship for investment scheme.
TLDR: The Court's conception of citizenship is more defensible than the legal reasoning it provided to reach what is an ethically desirable result.

Deporting your own citizens is plainly illegal.
But it is a logical step for a government that views its own citizens as enemies and is thus willing to trade their security and life for its own populist ends.

When Law Fails Us
The new toughness of migration policy and the loss of the belief that what the law permits and forbids, ultimately still remains significant.
@verfassungsblog.de graciously let me offer some thoughts in this weekβs Editorial on what the UKβs obsession with the Rwanda policy, Trumpβs inhumane immigration agenda and Scholzβs desire to βdeport in grand styleβ might all have in common.
