It’s fun in education, because oftentimes the same admin who balk at doing a couple observations to document a problem teacher expect teachers to do insane amounts of documentation from teachers for students to earn a bad grade or behavioral consequence.

I am sympathetic to feeling awkward about firing someone who isn’t, like, malicious. But that’s one of many reasons why I’m not in admin!

Sometimes you see how admin-dependent it is when there’s a leadership change and then someone who we were supposedly stuck with is out in couple months.

This has been my experience as well. If you’re an admin who doesn’t want to bother documenting the fireable offenses and/or isn’t up for the discomfort of firing someone, “the union makes it impossible” is a convenient excuse.

I am not giving The Atlantic the clicks and attention they’re after with that shitty article.

I see the whole category of automatic traffic enforcement, suspension of drivers licenses, confiscation of vehicles, ignition interlocks, speed limiting, and tracking to be a welcome alternative to the carceral state.

Seeing how fast things got dangerous with my second baby made me even more pro-hospital birth. I asked if I could call my mom to tell her I needed an emergency c-section, and they said no, my baby needed to get out immediately. Even being at the birthing center down the road would’ve been too far.

Didn’t get a picture because I was driving, but someone in rural ChesCo was brave enough to put an “ICE WAS HERE” nativity scene in their front yard. 🫡
