Thank you for your interest in the 2652 W. Chicago Avenue development proposal. Alderman Villegas was briefed on last week's community meeting and on the subsequent emails that have been received regarding the proposal. A vote on the proposal was held, which indicated that 27 people were against and 9 people were for the project that was presented. Based on all the negative feedback that was received, the alderman cannot support the proposal that was presented last week. Alternatively, the alderman is open to a four-story building proposal with significantly less units and a higher parking ratio. We have informed the developer and his attorney of the alderman's position, and we will await to see if the developer returns with an alternate, scaled-down project at the 2652 W.
