Outer Wilds, if you haven't played it yet, is one of the best games of all time. It's a fun space exploration game with a timeloop twist, and 90% of all game progress happens in your head, as you learn things about the universe and your situation.

Absolutely play it if you haven't yet.

i was an officer in the gamedev club at UCI a couple years ago, and from my cohort i know *far* more people who graduated into 1.5+ years of unemployment than into games employment. let alone people like me who landed in retail, or burnt out, or got laid off already.

To those about to GDC, here are some tips from a conference veteran:

- Hollowpoint bullets. 2 to the head. One to the heart. Burn the body

- Do not eat anything containing Umlauts. Ä, Ü, Ø etc. don't touch it

windows devs will make apps only for windows and program them heavily with windows-exclusive apis that make it a monumental task to port to other platforms (looking at both paint .net and undertale mod tool) mac devs will create simple QOL apps that require you to buy a pro license for, even though equivalent apps on other platforms are free linux devs will have their app only available on a git repo with zero binaries and very little (if at all) build instructions or guidance

gen Z cuts off at 2012, so the youngest of us are 14. all this affects both groups, but i think gen A is *far* more impacted. changes in tech literacy, education, and tech in general (especially the shift to apps and chromebooks) made things harder for them.

I printed it and stuck self-adhesive copper tape to it. There's copper tape with conductive adhesive so you can add multiple overlapping pieces and it counts as one conductive surface. Then I used the second part of the mold to shape the copper, so that it sticks inside the recessed traces. Then I used sandpaper to file away at the raised ridges. The copper traces are now electrically independent of each other. Done! But if I want, I can remove the extra copper tape.

The companion mold at the bottom. This second 3D-printed part pushes the copper tape down into the recessed trace channels so it conforms to the shape. The two parts sandwich together with alignment spikes to keep everything registered.
