I've never understood that. My lack of melanin and my birthplace were all determined by people and forces beyond my control, like genetics. Do such folks really believe that they arranged the circumstances of their births or something?

One friendly amendment? I don't think Bezos is trying to destroy democracy. I think he doesn't care about it one way or another. To my mind, that's worse.
