At this point, I feel like Kaiser Permanente should be paying me because apparently it's just DIY health care over there.

It's been decades of a step-parent cycling on/off meds as they wish and a bio-parent who doesn't believe in mental health care. They expect me to support them in ways they never would have supported me. It's exhausting, and compassion fatigue is real.

Home for the holidays update #2: step parent still manic, and their dentures are still missing. Bio parent insists on wearing MAGA merch ("I'm proud of it!" they declare) while wondering why we don't have a better relationship. I'm over here white-knuckling my way through every day.

Home for the holidays update: manic step-parent lost their dentures. Refuses to take meds because, "Everyone will be having fun on Christmas and I want to have fun, too."
