UPDATE: Staff at the ICE concentration camp in Dilley, Texas have begun raiding the dormitories of kids and their parents to confiscate and destroy letters from the children. This is in response to the ace reporting by @micarosenberg et al for ProPublica:

Meyers Taylor said her children's disabilities — both of her sons are deaf and Nico has Down syndrome — have created some "unique challenges" on the road. Nico experiences sensory overload at times and becomes overwhelmed, she said. The boys don't particularly sleep well on planes and then there's keeping up with their specialized treatments and medical equipment while on tour."

"I thought it would get much easier as they got older and it has not," Meyers Taylor, 41, said at the USOPC media summit in October. "Bigger children, bigger problems. Now that they're both walking, they're both up. They don't want to sit on planes, they don't want to stay still. They don't want to sit for meals or anything like that. So it is absolute chaos."

BREAKING NEWS: AG Rayfield announces court filing challenging excessive use of force by federal agents at Portland ICE facility

Today, AG Rayfield submitted arguments and evidence in support of a lawsuit brought by the ACLU of Oregon on behalf of protesters and journalists that challenges violations of the First Amendment and the use of excessive force by federal agents outside the Portland ICE building. The evidence shows that federal agents tear gassed peaceful protesters repeatedly during the weekend of January 31.

We are urging the court to issue a preliminary injunction against federal agents’ unlawful use of tear gas, pepper balls, and other crowd-control munitions. The district court will hold a three-day hearing on plaintiffs’ preliminary injunction motion, beginning on March 2.
