I took Tylenol as needed throughout my pregnancy. I am a doctor. I order Tylenol for pregnant women regularly. Tylenol is safe in pregnancy. RFK Jr is ignoring a huge recent well-done study because he doesn't like the answer it gives. There is no causality between Tylenol and autism.

Steve Silberman is so pissed about this Tylenol bullshit that he's screaming from the afterlife he didn't even believe in.

Increased rates of autism are due to testing, a broadened definition, and greater awareness. It's not vaccines. It's not Tylenol.

It's like his work never happened.

The women's game has exploded in recent years. Arenas are full. Ad revenue is up. TV contracts seem to be on the order of 100x higher. The value of teams has surged. And yet, the player salaries are still below (accounting for inflation) what the ABL offered 25+ years ago. That needs to change.

Listen, I'm just a middle school science teacher. I am not at all confident that I'm doing enough to train the next generation of citizens to move with confidence and integrity through this changing world. I am doing my best but it is very tough sledding in this political environment.

It is not news that someone in a position of power says something, especially when that person has repeatedly and unrepentantly lied in the past! Defense of democracy is an essential component to this field, as it is for all fields.

Sadly, what was once common on the enviro beat is now poisoning Americans' minds in the politics pages. Don't print lies in the newspaper. If a statement from an official is false, do not be a stenographer. "Spokesperson did not respond to written questions" is a perfectly fine thing to write!

When I took earth systems courses in college, Dr. Stephen Schneider talked about his efforts to educate reporters about how their reporting was misinforming their readers if they included statements from hacks in their articles. It has been demoralizing to see this problem continue 25 years later.
