Then they apparently tried to sue any other brewery or pub who used the words “Punk” or “Dog” in their products. They are truly despicable cnuts.

Spot on. As a bar manager friend of mine said around 18 years ago when her pub received Brew Dog branded pint glasses. “It’s cool to be seen drinking it…but it tastes like piss!”

At first they were desperate for my friend’s bar to stock their products and she kindly did so. Then suddenly she couldn’t get them to supply her as they were too busy selling to the supermarkets. Apparently they couldn’t even stock their own bars at one point due to meeting supermarket demands.

I still have my original 7” copy. Purchased on release when I was 14. B-side also epic. 🎼👍🎼

I hate Brew Dog and have done since tasting their truly appalling “77 Lager” around 2006. Feel sorry for the staff but will be glad to see the company nosedive. Their brews were shit imo.
And “Punks?” As Johnny Rotten once said, “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?”

Sad to hear about the passing of Robert Duvall.
Of course there was “Apocalypse Now” and other huge films, but there was also this very small movie filmed in Scotland in 1999. I got a couple of days work on it and was delighted to have met RD and briefly chatted to him off-set.

I wonder how many hours of our lives are wasted by queuing for things or being stuck at road works and traffic lights? If today was anything to go by then it’s a substantial amount.

I consider this to be *THE BEST ALE IN THE WORLD*. I may not have tried every ale available globally, but I’ve had a good kick of the ball around the UK, Europe and America. Even better that it’s readily available and brewed a mere 12 miles from my house. ‘Mon the Broughton Ales’ “Old Jock”. 🍺👍🍺

It is. I had a similar set up 10 years ago. I only used it for rehearsals and recording but I’m almost used to it now. Sonically it’s bloody good but visually you can’t really go “full Keith Moon” on it…or can you… 🎼😎🎼

This one is supposedly from the Edinburgh gig also. I certainly do not remember Stipe looking like this that night. Nor with the funny wee sailor hat.

I see. I thought the peroxide arrived around February 1985 but that’s because the YouTube video was dated 10/02/85…but of course the date is Americanised and was actually 2nd October. I was definitely at the Coasters gig and still have my ticket but can’t remember the short hair. It was June though.

I saw them in April and November 1984 and June 1985. However, it seems from a German gig on YouTube that his long curly hair had indeed gone by Feb ‘85 and he’d changed to a full, wavy peroxide style. A suit however was worn at Coasters and “Live Bear” was either taped or sprayed on the back.

Sifting through a folder of old band posters and artwork and came across a few sheets of Letraset. The hours I spent applying these letters in my drawing office day job and at home in the evenings were considerable. Tell the kids about it these days and they won’t believe you!

No way is that the same gig. Stipe still had long hair and wore a suit. I was there.

Sorting through a folder containing posters for bands I’ve been in and gigs I’ve attended through the years and came across this memory of a great show from 1985. I seem to recall MS wearing a lounge suit with “Live Bear” painted on the back. @remhq.bsky.social 🎼👍🎼

It may well seem that way but the setlist has had 150+ songs on it over the years and we play around 25 each week. Granted there are favourites we almost always include but yeah, it may well appear that the set never changes. Lots of fun for all though! 🎼😎🎼

Today’s vinyl delivery. A rare Italian promo copy of R.Dean Taylor’s “Indiana Wants Me” in a tasty picture sleeve. That takes my tally up to 15 copies of the single and 4 on LP. There are apparently over 40 versions of the single but that’s me done. I’m buying no more…ever…maybe.
