A letter from a surgeon to a doctor detailing treatment. It says that the peroneus brevis tendon was significantly tendinopathic and showed multiple longitudinal tears. It was debriefed and tabularised and a tenodesis was performed, joining the peroneus longus and brevis tendons. In addition, a lateral displacement calcaneal osteotomy was performed to improve the position of the heel.

My surgeon CC’d me into this letter to my GP and you better believe I was Google image searching all the terms so I know what he did to me.

Anyway today I’ve bought Deliveroo churros, four packs of Tim Tams, and stuff to clean the kitchen with, so I need to freeze my Monzo to stop myself from anymore frivolous sick-bed purchases.

The crepe bandage covering the plaster cast is starting to loosen and unravel which is Annoying. It just needs to stay attached until Thursday.

I watched the Gilmore Girls pilot and that’s about as much concentration as I could maintain for the evening. Celebrated that minor win with churro bits.

Clexane is a nippy little bugger. I feel nothing with the needle but the medication itself stings the hell out of me once it’s inside.

Not great today if I’m honest, pretty low. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I went to bed at half past nine because I was so knackered, but now it’s nearly three in the morning and I’m still wide awake.

Throbbing, but still attached so that’s a win!

Agony is manageable so far, uncomfortable but not unbearable. I’m much more aware of the wound and the metalwork today which gives me the boak a bit, but that’ll settle soon.

I have added this to my to watch list for next week when I’m more able to concentrate on things for more than five minutes.

I thought it had been caused by that leg being nearly an inch shorter than the other since the hip was replaced in 2018 but surgeon says not. Two metal hips and now a heel full of screws, I’m more metal than flesh now, it’s ridiculous.

No one knows, not even the surgeon! The ankle’s been swollen for almost 2 years but I didn’t twist or break it. Had an MRI back in July which showed the snapped and damaged tendon, got referred to a surgeon who said he’d fix that but also split and widen my heel bone cos I walk leaning to one side

Staples and screws Joel, and a snapped tendon behind my ankle McGuyver’d onto another one to stop that too from snapping. ON MY BIRTHDAY. The scar will be fabulous but there isn’t enough cake to make up for the inconvenience of it all.

I’m sore, but also mostly knackered. I’ve got weird shooting nerve pains through my foot and calf and the repaired tendon behind my ankle is throbbing. I managed to get washed and dressed without any help though!
