US officials call the killing an act of 'self defense against an armed and dangerous man'.

This is quite unique. Wilders has been the longest-serving member of parliament, since 1998. He is leading his own party since 2006. He is the party's founder, chairman and only member. There had been critique on his leadership before, mostly by individual MOP's, who were then excommunicated.
