I have been a bit bored over Christmas, so I started working on a little blog post about good academic writing for my group. I was wondering, what are key things you have learned about academic writing that you wish you would have known earlier?  🧪 #AcademicSky

I did an academic writing course and some key takeaways were 1) write with reader in mind 2) start broad and then specific 3) start with an outline 4) it's ok to step away if you are stuck, leaving it for a few days and then taking another look can help. I still incorporate all of this in my work

5 subjects have many points over the x-axis, each with a linear fit and a slightly positive slope. There is some noisiness in points' y-position, however that variability is much smaller than the variability in the baseline for each subject. The small variability in each subject's points is the within-subject variance. The large variability across all subjects is the between-subject variance.
