To the Medellín conference, which sparked a recommitment to the poor (Pope Francis was informed by this) and to influence on Latinx civil rights and farm worker movement. It also nods to our current times and ICE, though was written to nod to the last Trump administration. 3/4

On my transcontinental flight, I read two books about Latinx Activism recommended by a colleague for my upcoming VECINA class: Brown Church and Awaiting their Feast.

New from me for @science.org: A major planetary science conference will require submitted abstracts to comply with Trump's anti-DEI executive orders.

This conference, LPSC, is a big deal. It's been running since 1970 and is one of the biggest planetary science conferences out there. 🧪🔭

Our book was highlighted today!! Crowdsourced advice from lots of people. It's like having several mentors. Great for high school students thinking about majoring as well as all levels of Undergraduate.

...is harder than it looks & doing it effectively is a talent that has to be practiced and honed. The future of #democracy and civil discourse demand it.

The thing that keeps me teaching still is knowing how important this work is and being part of it.

I got to talk about Bad Bunny and the Superbowl in my @callingbullshit.bsky.social class and students graded a tiktok/reel that was someone refutating the claims that Bad Bunny is a bad choice for American football.
