That’s a wrap for BALEAP 2025! I had a fantastic time attending stimulating talks and catching up with colleagues. It was so fun to talk about a project very close to my heart, a series of workshops empowering doctoral candidates to engage in the writing for publication process ☺️

a man in a sweater is standing in front of a gumball machine and saying umm Alt: A scene from the comedy series Schitt's Creek. Actor Dan Levy is a young, white man with black hair. He's standing in a living room in front off a large window with curtains half-open. He's wearing a black and white patterned jumper and white trousers and gestures with his hands as he tilts his head to one side, asking "umm, what are you, what are you doing here?"

The challenge of being a practitioner-researcher where you’re simultaneously too academic and not academic enough, depending on who you’re talking to.

At least in my teacher training, we were taught these things exist. Much like grit the pop-psych crowd has fucked up a generation of teachers and students.

Years later when I learned this was all bullshit - as a corporate trainer and consultant - I was so angry.
