i'm immensely grateful to have grown up across the street from "Mr. Jim" and now, 30y later consider him my running coach
he has many amazing running stories. i just recently found out how phenomenal of a runner he was in the 50s, 60s and 70s and still to this day

do things that don't make sense. so much is mind control.
stomach hurts? touch as many trees as you can that lap. something hurts? carry a rock. go fast; go slow.
get out of your head. it's a trap.

i prefer writing code on an ipad
something about the small ipad screen feeling like a secondary peripheral and my primary focus being pen and paper or thinking space
ive used an ipad + nuc for personal projects since @arslan.io posted arslan.io/2019/01/07/u... (well actually probably '21)
it's a great burnout task

i spend a few hours a year revisiting my neovim setup and every time i do i get pumped to program the next day!

Just learned about embedding files in cue
finally got around to fixing up my vim and finally moved my colorscheme into lua as a separate file

i like a high-contrast, minimal colorscheme.
ive found myself asking ai to do things like simple global grep and replace in vim...
so wasteful... and lazy
yellow text on black and white photos is a style that i like
24.07.2025 11:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0how ive approached this is to go read the docs and attempt to write the code myself then ask ai to implement to see how our answers compared.

do i ship or do i learn?
do i have ai write the code for me? or do i allow myself a few more minutes to go learn how to write the code myself?
would you allow yourself to make a billion dollars?
