Years ago autism detection correlated with the MMR vaccine given at 15 mo. This is when the absence of speech and other delays were noticeable, less explainable. Now we know more. Our assessment tools are better. We identify most autism before the age of one- BEFORE MMR is given between 12-15 mo.
