Another one from last spring. A banded demoiselle.

European wood mouse 🐭. There’s also a possibility it could be a yellow-necked mouse. I think the only way to tell them apart is to see the underside of the neck.

My favourite wildlife photo of the past year. Was walking along a hedgerow on a spring evening when I heard a rustle in the bushes beside me. It took me a while to spot this beautiful field mouse, who stayed still just long enough for a photo.
