But behind all the fabulous leadership fame – success, smiles, and kisses on the cheeks—many leaders, particularly LGBTQ+ and people of color—deal with burnout.

One practical step to build equity-rooted leadership pipelines? Intentional mentorship. Be the sponsor, coach, and door-opener that others were for you.

When I was CFO at the LGBT Center we created flexible benefits, including a bucket for those transitioning gender. The impact was clear: higher retention and deeper engagement. Inclusion has to include the systems and policies that tell employees: you belong here.

When I graduated college, I didn’t even know what a résumé was. Education + mentorship changed everything.
