And why does it have a supposed monopoly? Because changes to tax law made the bulk of the wealth of some America's wealthiest people untouchable in the form of foundations.

You want to get really crazy? Change the law so foundations have to release more than a tiny percentage of their principal.

I think it’s good for the students and my mental health that I reorganized the class to be 1/3 on state and regional policies. Really difficult to contend that policy and science expertise matter at the federal level at the moment (let’s not even talk about legal expertise, precedent etc. etc.)

This story 💯 incaplsulates the bogus-osity of the US biofuel industry: climate deniers depending on gvt mandates/subsidies & whose feedstocks cause massive amounts of pollution whining that the administration they helped elect got out of int’l anti-pollution accords b/c it’s bad for their sales.
