It’s not our job as @mapeunion.bsky.social members to fix our employer’s budget. We’re gathering for a solidarity social to keep moving this fight along while the state of Minnesota tries its best to screw over its employees and therefore the people who depend on public service (that’s everyone btw)

Is it more embarrassing to go to a show wearing the band’s t shirt or looking like a doppelgänger of the lead singer? Asking for every dude at the hold steady show.

If you’ve never heard the sound of several hundred people giggling in unison, check out a Tesla protest when a cybertruck drives by.

Point well made, but when it comes to the actual off boarding and termination of all employees if sups weren’t doing it though? How would they have the time!?!

We bargain over “… hours of employment, compensation (including fringe benefits), and personnel policies affecting working conditions.” I’d call this a personnel policy affecting working conditions. We currently have rights to get a business reason and appeal revocations, so this goes around that.

Look I’m annoyed that I had to be here instead of like, at a Tesla takedown protest, but if you give an inch, they take a mile, and labor can’t afford that right now. It’s not about telework, it’s about worker and union rights.

Honestly the weirdest part is that if this were a goal of some sort, his management would be negotiating with us starting in three weeks. Weird for somebody so concerned about how government employees are being treated to try and circumvent unions!!!

Many of my coworkers took paycuts to work for the state, based on the promise of flexibility. Now, with kids set in summer camps/care they’re stuck without being able to get them on before/after care programs for summer because those were locked in months ago.

Why should poorly paid state workers have to subsidize wealthy landlords who won’t lease their buildings at reasonable rates or maintain their buildings? I already work in office 3 days/week and the only time I ever buy lunch is the Wednesday Community Lunch at Central Presbyterian.

Hey @governorwalz.mn.gov you know what’s not cool? Talking about how you’re a champion for labor and for fired federal workers, then unilaterally making a huge decision for your state workers. All of our unions are right here and you start negotiating with us in 2 weeks, so kind of a weird move.

New York Times spelling bee game featuring six grey hexagons with letters R,A,B,C,I,D surrounding a yellow hexagon with the letter T. Above it, the word “adiabatic” is spelled out with a black bar over it that says “not in word list”
Frankly just rude for Spelling Bee not to accept adiabatic. Take a physics class, word nerds!

One medical bill can wipe you out, and we deserve to have more in life than just lots of jobs and side hustling and trying to make more money. The cure can’t be individual- it’s a systemic issue and I hate discourse that budgeting gives “financial freedom.” Because it sure doesn’t feel like it.
