Well, we've got Dune and Dune: Part 2 as these artistic cinematic moments, and sandwiched in the middle is the gremlin of the 80s Lynch version to break it up.

It's a bit like a movie sandwich if you're willing to have a sandwich made of two pieces of nice bread and a piece of limburger cheese.

As I've now learned, the peak way to watch the Dune movies is Dune (2021) -> Dune (1984) -> Dune: Part 2.

Honestly-- if I do end up doing more heavy research videos (more than just media analysis, which is mostly from my brain connecting the dots), I think this is something I'd try. Maybe not a whole article, but I think one could use Substack as an annotated bibliography for video essays!

As ballsy as it is for her, I do think TSS's "articles" she writes with every video are actually quite creative and smart. Not only does it drive traffic to her Substack, but it also allows one to peruse her ""findings"" and get an idea of what she read that led to her (odd) conclusions.

It's now an important note to myself: I must finish the entire wikipedia page before posting something 😅

Yeah the one in Moonfall was a bit of a prick for leaving his stepson behind in jail, but other than that they seem like normal dudes?? It's just odd to see 😅

Why does Roland Emmerich dislike stepfathers? Idk what it is, but in the two films I've seen by him, the stepfather character dies in both of them. It's an odd detail.
