Apparently, males of this species are very hard to find in the UK and reproduction happens asexually from a mostly female population, with offspring hatching from unfertilized eggs. If anyone has more information about this, please let me know it!

I was lucky to find this nut leaf weevil (Strophosoma melanogrammum); it was very well concealed in a forest of villous plant stems. Trossachs national park, October '24. (stack of ~20 images).
