Ghost of Yotei really puts you in that Blue Eye Samurai / Shogun binge watch type of mood

This is a really beautiful collectors edition but there are no words to describe the disappointment I feel that the box did not come with a game case of any kind. Discs are paperweights, but the case is part of being a collector.

How many games are out there these days where the source of inspiration is so thick you can almost taste the familiarity? I feel like it’s a lot.

The problem we really have, I think, is a great many new games are trite and derivative in a way that feels lazy and uninspired.

It’s weird to hear people complain about having “no games to play” when we are in the most oversaturated gaming market of all time. We are absolutely spoiled for choice right now in a way I dont think the industry or consumers have ever seen before.

Theres been a rising trend in this I’ve noticed over the last 2 years, but predominantly focused on indies. Would be interesting to see AAA start decentralizing

Also Hulu is probably the most premier TV app for network VOD TV. All your favorite shows air just a day later, so this does feel like Disney is in a sense buying network television as a whole. I wonder if network TV will fracture even further between the apps once the merger is complete?

Hulu getting dissolved into Disney+ is a bit of a bummer. Hulu has been a constant for me since like 2010. The one app I can’t do without and also the one I don’t pay for since I’m grandfathered in to an old Spotify bundle deal.

Monster Hunter. I love it conceptually. I love a lot about it. But there’s something about the combat and the way it locks you in an attack direction that cooks my brain completely and I just can’t jive.

Mortal Kombat 1 had some of the most impressive and realistic facial animations of any game, ever. I really don’t think the animators got enough flowers for such skillful work.

Especially Shang Tsung.

I hope one day, we’ll get a true successor to the MMORPG genre with mind-bending, plastic-melting graphics. Even better if it’s in VR. The future is full-dive, probably, and I’m here for it.
