‘FriendlyName’ Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Wemo Smart Plug V2 | Sternum IoT Manufacturer chooses not to patch the Sternum-identified buffer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2023-27217) in the Wemo Mini Smart Plug V2.

A couple of years ago at a previous job I published a paper (sternumiot.com/iot-blog/min...) about a bunch of vulnerabilities we found in wemo devices. Wemo promissed a patch that never came. Now they're killing the entire product line.

My HVAC system died, so I bought a few window units from Lowe's and got them running. Once the house was cool again, I looked at my wife and said, "Well... I guess it’s true. WE DO control the weather."

I can't believe it, but I used one of those "pixel refresher" videos on YouTube for a few hours and it fixed all of the ~100 stuck pixels on my screen!

What the actual fuck?! I just turned on my computer after 3 weeks of being away, my 1.5 year old LG monitor has at least 100(!!!) dead pixels all over a sudden all across the panel. What the actual fuck. I'd be very surprised if LG's customer service are going to be helpful in any way.

Home. Finally 🇺🇸

We travelled to Israel a few days ago to visit our families after two years. Then two nights ago the whole thing with Iran started. We're stuck here. Last night a residential building a street away from us was directly hit by a missile. Probably the scariest moment in my entire life.

I am a Zionist because I believe in Israel's right to exist. I was born there. My father was born in mandatory Palestine, so did my mother, and so did both of my grandmothers. The flag that I'm "flying" is inside a room in my own house. Go attack someone's identity with your purity tests.

I don't support the government, I don't support the war, but I am from there and it is the country I was born in and lived at for 30 years. My entire family is there, entire generations of my family were born there and I'm not going to apologize for my identity because it suits you or anyone else

I am not an activist, and I'm not looking to be one, I'm just sick of constantly being harassed because of a fucking flag in my room and this entire discussion, and the daily harassment I'm receiving on every platform I'm on including personal emails proves exactly that.

Netanyahu is a dictator and the only reason this war continues is to save him from his trial. I wish he'd be imprisoned, his failed policies are the main reason why I left the country. But it doesn't matter because I don't scream genocide as if this word has no meaning. >>

You seem to think that you have a carte blanche to calling me a genocide supporter or putting words in my mouth or thoughts in my head. I'm not playing this game of purity testing, it doesn't help anyone, especially not the Palestinians. Again 70% of the Israeli public want to stop the war >>

D. I have also ALWAYS said that Palestinians deserve the right to self determinination JUST AS Israeli does but there needs to be some assurances to the security of Israel
