Sometimes I wonder if it isn't the meekness and civility that is actually emboldening them.

One thing the media's reticence to label Kirk an extremist has made jarringly clear is how scared they are of the people in power now who share his extremist beliefs.

In the space of nine months, they have internalized a fear of condemning racism, misogyny, homophobia and antisemiticism.

A reminder:

Ending healthcare for trans folk is political violence.

Caging and deporting people who seek asylum is political violence.

Arresting those who protest genocide is political violence.

Political violence is pervasive, made persistent by politics that consign groups of people to death.

they didn't do this when democratic lawmakers were targeted by a gunman. the mainstream media barely peeped when a Kyle Rittenhouse fan did a mass shooting at a Portland protest. Democrats and the mainstream media are just terrified of conservatives to the point where no one else's lives matter
