I agree. I was rather impressed with myself when I did London to Brighton (whoever put the South Downs at 90km in is NOT my friend!) Currently working up to 100 miles. Then 200km is in the cards.

This one has no engine and the back is full of rubbish. The owner wants me to leave it alone because it has tax and MOT. Sadly, the MOT is not valid when the engine is missing. Either way, it's going today.

Are you in touch with any of your ward councillors? I could speak with them and explain how this is a service Ealing are getting at no cost. Just some paperwork.

Hillingdon SHOULD request devolved powers from the DVLA to remove untaxed vehicles under the Vehicle Excise Duty (Immobilisation, Removal and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations 1997 as Ealing have done.

Ealing and a couple of other boroughs have opted to interpret the legislation literally: if an officer believes the vehicle appears abandoned, he can have it removed.

So each council does it a bit differently. Hillingdon's process seems to involve waiting for both tax AND mot to expire, placing a notice, and then asking A1 Spares to collect the vehicle. You can report vehicles on Love Clean Streets on their online portal.

A ward councillor sent this to me. A drunk driver took out a bus stop over the weekend. His insurance company have decided not to do anything. I sent this to my tow contractor and the car was gone in 3 hours.

We have already removed about 15 vehicles from Coronation Road. But we are not done there.

It really is the height of entitlement. It's bad enough when drivers take up the entire lane and can't park properly. But when they decide that the entire public realm is for their commercial enterprise, it's time to take action.

You would think. The trouble isn't ordinary residents. It's shady auto traders and commercial garages that take on more cars than they can accommodate in their shop.

Even better: we have TWO different towing contractors now. We are doing a 12 month pilot project around nuisance vehicles and associated shenanigans. Stay tuned, there will be SO much more than just PCNs coming your way.

Some of our recent work. This hot-spot is notorious for cars with no plates, SORN cars, untaxed cars. We lifted 12 cars, issued 36 PCNs, and reported misused of 15 trade plates to the DVLA.
