I sincerely know less than nothing about this nba gambling ring dealio. I do know that in a moment when powerful mostly white men are stealing from everybody at scale and with breathtaking gall, it’s odd that these are the faces I’m seeing.

If this didn’t happen domestically, it would be a war crime.

It should be a crime to fire at civilians within the United States within certain distances.

We have never seen civil disobedience *or even outright riots* in which short-range is anything but punitive and cruel—it doesn’t aid control.

A LOT of people in my neighborhood hit the streets when they learned ICE was present. Tons of people outside, walking, on bikes, and in cars. This is the only thing that soothes my anger. We kept them on the run, but I learned they got a young volunteer I met so I'm very concerned about her.

Here in Seattle, furloughed NOAA employees were out in the pouring rain cleaning up beaches yesterday, part of a national week of service organized by federal workers who can't do their jobs due to the shutdown.

Apparently, some Wal-Marts will help employees fill out SNAP applications as part of their HR paperwork. When people start going hungry on Nov 1 part of the reason is companies underpay them

The questions it raises are all specifically premised on the clear and immutable fact, not present at all in this framing, that this "move" is illegal, is not legal, is criminal, is a crime.
