That's not to say that I know either. Maybe retraining into AI fields will be the magic that keeps everyone employed. My main point is about the "solutions" thrown around by those that are unaffected by the waste of the systems that they benefit from.

Being able to offer a solution doesn't mean that people don't have a problem if the solution you offer is not demonstrably effective.

I love that, despite AI being disruptive, tech CEOs are sticking to the same tired, time-tested advice: retrain and retool.

The issue is that they don't know if that will work either. That "advice" is just what it's always been - a way for the system to have no accountability to its constituents.

It's remarkable when you meet someone who meets you with patience. Not the kind of patience that condones cruelty, but one that understands enough to work with you to massage out your rough edges. To grow together.
