I totally fangirl for women who get fully torqued about their historical periods!
What 5 Bluesky users would I take a special interest class from, you ask? In no particular order:

It’s tough for good people to imagine hunting in their own ranks for potential victims to hurt. It’s a really f’ed up thought game that most genuinely good leaders don’t ever want to indulge in.

It’s almost like the most bro-dude-COIN-Operator military of the last two decades learned absolutely nothing from their patrol experiences: the quiet population is often the best intel source about the enemy.
Social media is curated. It’s a parasocial relationship that can boldly lie. That’s how the sex pests could advocate for victims while simultaneously stalking the digital ranks for them.
31.01.2026 14:05 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Maybe flip the script? Stop publicly declaring that your unit “has no problem” because you haven’t seen a report… yet.
Instead try admitting that a silent victim is in the ranks with you and that SA is part of our environment. Your goal is acknowledging and supporting the victim, not to deny them.
We’d be talking with friends about “how successful the SA programs were in my unit,” and the heartbreaking way their faces would fall when I’d tell them that they had rape victims in their units, but they didn’t know because those victims didn’t feel the command was safe enough to tell.

Sexual harassment, assault, and predatory behavior are just part of environment. I have no idea why guys can’t wrap their heads around that.

Originally published by the Reader’s Digest without credit to the author, reprints can be found that properly credit the work to Katherine Kressmann Taylor today. It demonstrates how “primary sources” can be used to illuminate complex historical events that have significant context today.

Dear business,
If someone is calling as a next-of-kin and executor to cancel an account for a deceased account hold, no… the executor cannot put the account holder on the line to confirm the account. That person is, in fact, not available to do that. They’re dead.
Sincerely,
The executor

The value of history in PME is unquestioned, but there is always tension with social and political science. “Only so many course hours in the day…” and such.
For war museums reaching military professionals in their PME, education staff with a background in history, theory, AND doctrine is clutch.
My default retort to such nonsense is to ask if the offending Luddite would be willing to use a Kiowa Warrior pilot to observe and adjust fire.
When they say “yes,” this is what they basically said yes to:
Literally writing an undergraduate lesson plan today on the enduring legacy of this Boston Committee of Public Safety poster from 1915.

Liberal feminism has not gone far enough because I have heterosexual cis-gender male colleagues who were sexually assaulted during their military service and only came forward because female victims heard them, believed them, and advocated for them.

Update on this cat that I wanted you to look at:
She heads to her new home after the New Year.
She still sheds.
She loves the world. The whole world.
She has a temporary lap that she has been shedding on.
She wishes you safe travels for your holiday leave.
Look at this cat.
She takes her coffee black and hot, like her soul.
She will sleep on your lap.
She will consume your motivation.
She wants to watch Masterpiece theatre with you.
She might shed.
She will shed.
She will also snore a little.
Look at her.
She supports your ever-growing TBR pile on your bedside table.
She will gently remind you about your cholesterol and sodium.
She finds the films of Yorgos Lanthimos derivative and fascinating.
She poops in a box. Every time.
She will bat the decorations on the tree. Again.
