He merely “advanced” on officers. “Advanced” is a nice non-descriptive descriptor. Perfect cop language.

This short-documentary was the reason I wanted LAPD’s headshots. It started with just the people involved with this story but when I was typing the request, I just said, “fuck it, all of them”

Reformists like to say Seattle has a “three legged stool” of so-called accountability systems. If it’s a piece of furniture, then it’s built for somebody to sit on top of it. Each leg props something up.

Impunity culture continues.

Most of the cases were completed in November. However, in October, the OPA opened another investigation into an incident DivestSPD uncovered.

Muoio was also given a "supervisor action" for unprofessionalism, which is unusual if the officer has repeatedly violated the same policy (Muoio has been investigated 8 times for this, 3 sustained).

He was captured on camera taunting someone he arrested.

OPA did not sustain any excessive force complaints. The only sustained finding was that Officer Brian Muoio did not activate his bodycam and operated his bike unsafely.

He rammed someone head-on, knocking him down. Muoio was given a written reprimand.

No justice for victims of Seattle police violence at Cal Anderson With most investigations complete, the Office of Police Accountability's probe into SPD's violent arrest of queer counter-protesters has sustained zero allegations for excessive force.

The Office of Police Accountability found that SPD's violent overreaction to a May protest in Cal Anderson was neither violent nor an overreaction. Case closed!

Everyone is overstating the leftward swing in Seattle's election. It's a needed course correction, not a counter-counterrevolution.

Wilson is an improvement over Harrell or Durkan, but the city council will still be considerably more moderate than it was in 2020.
