wait a minute! this splatted unicorn is made from the same scraps, so he counts too!

whenever I think of a project to use up my scraps, I seem to need more yarn to bring it all together and end up with more scraps than I started with. which kind of defeats the object. but these socks are a ‘true’ scraps project, made with the leftovers from five pairs of socks. #showMeYourKnits 🧶

I am planning a big project (fancy winter coat) so I am procrastinating by making literally anything but that 😂

dealt with some more deep stash to make this - ruffle top from Breaking the Pattern by Named Clothing. fabric is miscellaneous quilting cotton that must be at least 15 years old, and the buttons are recycled from an old cardigan 🪡 #sewsky

thank you! there are a few grey garter ridges spread through the green, partly to make sure the lace panels tie in better, but mostly because I mis-guessed my yardage twice 💀 and needed to incorporate more grey to make sure I didn’t run out of green. worked out beautifully though!

yarn is a mix of a random grey and Juniper Moon Finley DK Dappled in Tough Gold, although I would describe it as more of a green.

for #ShowMeYourKnits garter stitch week, here’s my Waiting for Rain. Short rows with neat little lace panels to break up all that garter. it’s brilliantly wrappable, although sometimes I just knot it around my shoulders and waft around like I’m the ghost of a Victorian washerwoman 👻🧶

it’s held up surprisingly well, both the item itself (considering I just knotted my ends and never wove them in 💀) and the style. not that you can go far wrong with a cardi!
