Hochul Approved Permits That Could Help Clients of Her Husbandβs Firm
Not a good look for the Governor, as she approves a new natural gas pipeline as well as gas for a crypto-mining operation. Both decisions fly in the face of NY's climate law.

Paris Agreement 10 years on: More wins than you may realize β DW β 11/12/2025
Global emissions continue to rise a decade after the Paris Agreement. However, solar, wind and EV growth demonstrate that climate action can work. Here's what has been achieved and what remains urgent...
A decade after the Paris Agreement:
Emissions still rising, but clean energyβs exploded.
Renewables now 40% of power, EVs 1%β25%, and solarβs quadrupled.
Weβre avoiding 4 Β°C of hellfire, but still steering toward 2.5 Β°C.

Newsom touts California's record battery energy gains at U.N. climate conference
California has now reached 16,942 megawatts of available battery storage β about one-third of the estimated capacity needed to reach the state's goal of 100% clean energy by 2045.
"The surge in storage is meeting with even faster growth of solar in the state. Together, solar+batteries have eliminated >37% of fossil gas use on the stateβs main grid in just 2y"

Just to understand it fully. $50B worth of batteries can handle all new demand for power until 2030 without adding any new capacity to the grid? If true, that is a cheap solution. Any added solar, which there will be, could reduce cost and emissions equivalent all those gas/coals being fired up.

With ~$50B of batteries we can accommodate all of the load growth in the USA through 2030. But they have to be placed in the right places on the distribution grid. So think less 100 MW single deployments and more 3-8MW distributed deployments and behind the meter batteries at homes and businesses.

Clean Energy accounted for all electricity growth this year. Gas/Coal were basically a wash and will be for years to come for electricity generation.
We need to ramp up batteries because they are 90% cheaper than distribution grid upgrades which is the main reason we have rate increases.
