sadly nintendo games aren't translated to finnish.. making all my attempts at getting cousins and their children to play the games I like (with me) really difficult, because nintendo games are so dialogue and text heavy!!! animal crossing just doesn't click if you don't read english..

at first I thought that would work in finnish too, but no, we add extra sounds to the names of konsonants here too.. but if you speak letters in finnish all the vowels will sound correct in the words! my name Aino for example would be ɑ-i-æn-ɔ, and only the æ sound would be incorrect.

I FINISHED MY MASTERS THESIS!!
I wasn't sure I was gonna make it. but I took some days off my workweek and powered through. I really finished it, after 5 years..

Tanabe was all about the many types of mikan they have grown in the area! they also had some of these kinds of characters that inspired my own mikanmon~

an orange-brown bag with a white tiedie pattern in the shape of a round (ish) character with little round feet, a round mouth, tiny eyes and a leaf(ish) sticking out of it's head

my little tie died bad next to soem other work made at the workshop, drying on the table.

she was born at a tie dye workshop in Tanabe, where I wanted to make something inspired by the dye made of mikan peel! the instruktor giggled with me at the result, asked the characters name and then laughed her ass off <3
