I’m not here to cape for this poster. I’m only speaking about this tweet. I’ve seen numerous other Black people try to explain what’s really being said. Do understand them at least? Is it that shocking that Black communities would prefer economic parity and to exist outside this racist hellscape?

Nobody, including OP, was advocating for a return to Jim Crow.

His sentiment, and Bell’s, seem to me
more like MLK’s when he said he feared he was β€œintegrating his people into a burning house.”

It’s a critique of the persistent structural racism and economic exploitation at America’s core.
