This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Every time I gain followers after a post I feel the need to say:
I mostly post about cats and soccer.

I really wanna go back to that and I intend to once the world finally calms down. (Yes this is a wish that at this moment even I don’t take seriously).

Until then: fuck ICE.

We moved over to a new system but I’m sure there are still some things that overlap.

I mean, we have the connection to the same org. :)

But yes. Being on the business side gives me a lot more freedom than a journalist, unless they choose to limit themselves to a certain type of reporting.

I want to be clear: I would be saying this even if I didn’t work at a news org.

I admit I’m personally invested, but even just as a regular citizen, local news orgs are the ones you can rely on.

There is so much going on in the cities that I have some very strong feelings about and if I said how I actually feel I’d probably be fired from my job.

So I’ll just say this: things are fucked up and y’all should support your local news orgs because they are the only ones reporting the truth.

I feel that. I had hoped talking about real world experience here in the twin cities would change things, but it hasn’t.

It’s just hard. I know I should just cut them off but I’m not mentally ready for that yet.

I guess I just hope they can change but maybe they can’t.

Getting into fights with my family about the halftime show: classic.
