Orioles deadline take: O's-sky has spent months complaining about Coby Mayo getting jerked around, but also now upset about trading Ramon Urias - when he was one of guys taking regular at-bats away. Figure end result of these trades is deeper farm system and clearer path for Mayo (and Basallo).

Then why waste a roster spot when 1st base/DH is going to be pretty crowded when Mountcastle comes back and Basallo is knocking at the door. He needs to work on 3rd base or they need to find a trade partner and Mountcastle has zero value right now.

I know it was not the best at the major league level but Mayo did come up as a primary 3rd baseman

Have we also considered that this makes roster space for people close to being back from the IL like Bradish and Mountcastle
