On a backbone trail in Bryce Canyon

One day, when it’s safe, when there’s no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it’s too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.

The split-brain patients who pick up a cigarette with one hand and have the other hand slap it away from them are fuckin wild. No wonder things like demonic possession were accepted as fact by so many people throughout human history

Pope Leo rebukes climate skeptics after Trump calls warming a β€˜con job’ The Illinois native’s comments come a week after the U.S. president derided the fight against climate change.

Pope Leo XIV denounced people who deny climate change today, arguing that they are contributing to the destruction of God's creation.

In retrospect, it’s probably a good thing Trump chose a SecDef whose character, knowledge and comportment could only fill a genuine military professional with contempt and loathing.

that's why I often recommend "LILITH: A ROMANCE" by MacDonald. It was written by someone in his 70s, who had suffered a great deal, and it is one of the most strangely beautiful works of fantasy ever. It's about someone who finds magic as an adult

I had a judge presiding over one of my cases ask me if I had been a defendant in one of his cases because he recognized me. I was like nope. I'm counsel. I was dressed impeccably in a vintage Calvin Klein suit that I'd paid way too much money for. It happened in 2005ish and I still think about it.

The only thing that I know about the male loneliness epidemic for sure is the people who are selling men cures for it are almost universally making it worse. You can't get strong as fuck and defeat loneliness or whatever, you have to consider other options that aren't part of your current toolkit.

Three acorns with extended taproots

Say hello to our little friends πŸ™‚

Forced germination has made our acorn chums think they have been through winter, & they have extended their taproots to search for moisture

Time to find them homes

An acorn and taproot

An acorn and taproot

The taproot is an acorn’s lifeline

It searches for depth to source moisture & anchor the seed. The straighter & deeper the taproot goes, the greater the root system & as a consequence, the tree itself

If the taproot is damaged, the seedling dies.

Many media outlets hid the full truth of Trump -- his background in organized crime, his Epstein ties -- out of fear, only to be obliterated by him in the end. Had they not self-censored then, they might not be state-censored now. When you hide the truth, you face the consequences.
