When I went to return books to the library, there was quite a crowd gathered. Turns out there's a manhole cover designed with Angels pitcher Yusei Kikuchi on it! These are installed in the hometowns of Japanese Major Leaguers, and of course Shohei Ohtani and Roki Sasaki's local areas have them too.

We have a madman in the White House who is actively trying to trigger total war.

If Jeffries, Schumer, or any other Democratic leaders try to justify this, shrug indifferently, or write a strongly-worded letter and call it a day, they need to step down or be aggressively primaried.

ICE agents are complaining that every time they go out (unmasked/in unmarked cars) protesters are dumping pounds of glitter on them.

So people can identify them as ICE for days afterward.

Time to buy glitter . . .

Much as I would not dare to predict the consequences of this war, I do think we can summarize it thusly so far:

This is a sanctuary city, a designation that was democratically voted on and enacted into law by the residents of this city—not by political opportunists grandstanding from a golf course in Florida. It is subject to civil penalties—typically a fine—not imprisonment, not detention, and certainly not extrajudicial abduction. Dragging someone off the street at gunpoint, without a warrant or due process, and forcing them into an unmarked vehicle operated by armed, plainclothed agents is not law enforcement—it is armed kidnapping. And armed kidnapping is a felony—a real one. So if you’re going to obsess over who is “illegal,” start by looking at the heavily armed individuals violating constitutional protections under the guise of enforcing the law. It's very likely that we have three or four shadow presidents (including people like Stephen Miller) who are *actually* calling the shots; Trump's brain-melted press conferences are more incoherent than ever, and there's a big story there for anyone with the courage and the access.

There's a very real story to be told right now about whether or not Trump is even capable of being in charge. If the press went in on that as hard as they did on Biden, I don't know what'd happen. But it'd likely be a damn sight better than them trying to vindicate themselves over 2024.
