Every American should read this and ask themselves why they are allowing this to occur.

I have thought for several years now that tenure is essentially meaningless in Texas, this kind of action is what tenure is supposed to prevent.

Acetaminophen Use During Pregnancy and Children’s Risk of Autism, ADHD, and Intellectual Disability This nationwide cohort study with sibling control analysis examines the association of acetaminophen use during pregnancy with children’s risk of autism, ADHD, and intellectual disability.

Large population study published in JAMA last year shows not evidence supporting a link between Tylenol use and autism.

If Tylenol caused autism, we’d all be autistic. Almost every pregnant woman in America has taken Tylenol because it’s what doctors recommend during pregnancy.

I was standing on a bridge looking that way when I heard the wind starting to blow down stream and in about 10 seconds time, I had to focus, meter and shoot before I was in a complete white out. One of my all time favorite images. It was 4 degrees F. Once in a lifetime shot

The authoritarian checklist It is time to admit that America is no longer a functioning democracy

New, from me:
America is no longer a functioning democracy. It is a competitive authoritarian system, hurtling rapidly toward authoritarianism.
This was a hard piece to write but we can't move forward if we don’t acknowledge where we are.

The stock market doesn’t see things for what they are, there is a lot of unjustified optimism and expectation in the system, stocks were at an all-time high a year before the Great Recession

What really gets me is how embarrassing this all is.

The United States is literally the most powerful nation in all of human history. And it has decided to just blow itself up.

When asked which country is the most important ally to their own, many people around the world name the United States. This is the most common response in 12 of the 24 non-U.S. countries included in a new Pew Research Center survey. It is tied for the top response in three additional countries.

But others say the U.S. is their nation’s greatest threat. This is the most common response in six countries and tied for top in two others.

In neighboring Canada and Mexico, as well as in Argentina, Brazil and Kenya, the U.S. is the top response on both the ally and threat questions.

The fact we have secret police whisking people off the streets doesn’t get enough attention. It ain’t normal and we’re further down the road to authoritarianism than you think.
