That's Something Genuinely Worth Celebrating. With a few thoughtful choices, any organisation can produce a year-end video that's accessible, inclusive, creative, and impactfulβavailable to everyone who wants to celebrate with you. Creating accessible content isn't a compliance checkbox. It's a reflection of whether inclusion is something you talk about or something you actually practice.
What if inclusion was part of the highlight reel?
When accessibility is built in from the start, content becomes clearer, calmer, and more meaningful for everyone.

The Bigger Picture. When accessibility is missing, the message becomes unintentionally contradictory: we celebrate everyone... except the people who can't access this video. The customers, employees, and partners who helped make those achievements possible may not be able to experience the recap at all. That's not just a missed opportunity. It's a contradiction of the very values these videos are meant to represent.
What does inaccessible content say about inclusive values?
Celebrating people with content some canβt access creates a quiet contradiction.
Itβs rarely intentional but it matters.

More Ways to Remove Barriers. Three recommendations are shown. Caption Properly: auto-captions are a starting point, not a solution; human-edit for accuracy, timing, proper names, and meaningful sound cues. Reduce Unnecessary Motion: animation can remain if thoughtful, readable, purposeful, and high contrast. Check for Flashing: ensure content does not exceed three flashes per second to avoid seizure risk.
What if accessibility improvements were simpler than you expect?
Small choices like unchecked captions and unnecessary motion can quietly exclude people.

Making It Accessible Without Killing Creativity. Text explains that accessibility solutions are not complicated or creativity-limiting, but require consideration. Three recommendations appear: Provide a text alternative via a blog post with all text and visual descriptions; Add narration to convey meaning through audio; Create audio description so visual content is meaningful to people who cannot see it.
Accessibility doesnβt limit creativity, it refines it.
Narration, descriptions, and purposeful motion donβt change ideas; they help more people access them.

Barriers for Cognitive Differences & Motion Sensitivity. Cognitive & Learning Differences. Text disappears in under 2 seconds. Rapid transitions create cognitive overload. No way to pause and absorb information. Vestibular & Photosensitive. Rapid flashing can trigger seizures. Quick cuts cause dizziness and nausea. Constant motion feels physically unpleasant.
Motion is a powerful design tool, until it isnβt.
Fast transitions and constant movement can overwhelm viewers with cognitive differences or motion sensitivity.

Barriers for People Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Music carries emotional weight and pacing cues that are completely lost. Any voiceover is inaccessible without proper captions. Auto-generated captions mangle names and technical terms. Timing drifts and meaning gets stripped away. "Impact tripled" becomes "impact crippled". Viewers can't trust the information being presented.
What happens when a videoβs meaning relies entirely in the sound?
For deaf or hard-of-hearing viewers, missing or inaccurate captions donβt just block access, they break trust.

Barriers for People Who Are Blind or Have Low Vision. Animated text with no spoken narration means screen reader users receive nothing meaningful. Text that appears briefly cannot be resized, paused, or adjusted. Screen magnifiers often distort animated content. Visual achievements go completely untold without audio description. The story of "our team making a difference" remains invisible.
If your message is only visible, is it really being communicated?
Animated text without narration can leave people out. Accessibility ensures the message is shared.
