Excellent and succinct thread about the Moldovan vote-buying scandal. For the past few months, Russia has been doing everything in its power to buy Moldova's democracy, and now the election is almost here (Sunday 28th). We can only hope Russia doesn't succeed.

I do enjoy seeing the russian money getting picked up and their operation hobbled and unmasked.

7/ Moldovan police reported the arrest of 69 people on Saturday 16th. Shor was planning a similar protest for 23rd, but I can see no evidence of it online (aside from Russian sources like TASS and RIA Novosti). Bad luck, Ilan. Maybe try actually being in the country you're so intent on manipulating.

6/ Interestingly, Infotag reported that most demonstrators were elderly. Perhaps they were using the money from Shor to subsidize their pension.

5/ Reports are consistent that the protestors shouted "Down with Maia Sandu" and called for the release of Evgenia Gutsul, who was recently convicted for funneling money into Shor's illegal political party.

4/ Some of the demonstrators dressed up as Pikachu and Labubu in order to either a) divert police attention or, more likely, b) cause a stir on social media when they got detained.

3/ There was a pretty good turnout on Saturday 16th, with Shor's paid protestors setting up tents on the platform of Chisinau Train Station in some kind of attempt at disruption. The tents were taken down by police before long.

2/ On his Telegram channel, the Russia-loving fugitive oligarch recently promised Moldovans $3000 a month if they agreed to participate in staged protests against President Sandu. This is (obviously) illegal, but that's never stopped him before.
