Me too, I wasn’t prepared to fund an organisation that had lost the ability to challenge politicians when they lied or distorted things

It’s all a matter of timing, in a different era Starmer might well have succeeded Ted Heath as leader of the Conservatives. It’s only the country’s drift to the right that makes Starmer look like he’s on the left.

It’s very sad. Twitter is pretty toxic but so many large organisations are only on there so it’s extremely useful at times.

β€œWhite people born in Britain commit murders and sexual assault every week. But they are not defined by this action whenever it is perpetrated.”

Can we print this out and tape it to every hard right Musk fan’s forehead?

Her apology perhaps should mean that she keeps her job - it doesn’t smack of dishonesty - but any legal sanctions that might be associated with her failure remain open to the appropriate authorities.

I don’t think most people have a grasp on just how much the highest earners earn. High earners have pulled away because their pay has grown at a much faster rate in real terms than median or poor earners so of course the proportion of tax they pay will have increased too

Last week:

-Trump pardoned Binance's founder after a $2B deal with his crypto firm
-Hegseth awards a DoD contract to a Don Jr.-backed firm

I am so bitterly disappointed by Sir Keir. I appreciate that Conservatives left an utter mess behind but it doesn’t feel like he has led the country, he just seems to follow Reform.

One of the things I love about life in Spain: coffee shops that shut for their lunch when many potential customers are likely to be likely to be looking for refreshments.

The objection on the grounds of practicality doesn’t work. Whatever the financial cost of immigration the right wing will say it’s too much. If it turns out the be a net gain they will say it’s not enough.

I don’t think Spain has a de minimus IVA threshold. I think businesses have to account for it from day 1.

Zack Polanski has been on Question Time 0 times.
Nigel Farage has been on Question Time 38 times.

But they both lead parties with 4 MP's.

When is Zack getting his 38 appearances?

1 in 3 doctors were born overseas.

1 in 2 builders were born overseas.

1 in 6 nurses were born overseas.

1 in 4 transport workers were born overseas.

1 in 7 UK business founders were born overseas.

1 in 5 university academics were born overseas.

The UK would be screwed without them.
